Siddaramaiah to present 17th budget amid revenue strain

Karnataka Budget 2026-27: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday presented a Rs 4.48 lakh crore Budget for 2026-27 in the state Assembly, marking the 17th budget of his political career.

The Budget projected a revenue deficit of Rs 22,957 crore, making it the third consecutive revenue-deficit budget presented by Siddaramaiah in the post-FRBM (Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management) era.

Before the Budget presentation at the Vidhana Soudha, Congress MLA Konappa Reddy said the Chief Minister was creating history by presenting his 17th Budget and expressed hope that it would benefit all sections of society.
