Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra plan to visit Sambhal despite ban on entry of outsiders

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party MPs from Uttar Pradesh are planning to visit violence-hit Sambhal on Wednesday (December 4) despite restrictions on the entry of outsiders until December 10.

“Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Sambhal tomorrow. The visit aims to create harmony and brotherhood in the area. He will meet the victims’ families. General secretary in-charge Uttar Pradesh Avinash Pande, I and other party MPs from the State will go along with Mr. Gandhi,” Ajay Rai, the State Congress president told The Hindu. “Priyanka Gandhi is also coming,” he added.

Congress Lok Sabha MP Imran Masood said that the visit will give a “healing touch” to the victims’ families and send a signal of social unity. The Congress delegation plans to reach Sambhal around 1 p.m. and visit the families of those who were killed in the violence.
