Goods train derails near Mumbai

A goods train derailed at the Palghar railway station in Maharashtra on Tuesday evening, affecting the movement of Mumbai-bound trains coming from Gujarat. A railway spokesperson said five wagons of a freight train derailed at around 5:10 PM, affecting train traffic on the Mumbai-Surat railway line.
“The incident took place around 5.10 pm and no casualties have been reported”, Sumit Thakur, chief PRO, Western Railway, said in a statement.
He said the freight train, carrying iron coils, was heading for Panvel when it derailed at the Palghar railway station.
