A 49-year-old man has been arrested from Palghar for allegedly murdering his wife, beheading her, and disposing of her remains in separate locations. According to news agency PTI, the crime came to light two months after the incident when a skull was found inside a travel bag in Virar.
According to the report, the accused, named Harish Hippargi, was arrested from Nalasopara East, on the outskirts of Mumbai, after investigators traced crucial evidence linking him to the murder.
Hippargi, who worked in the imitation jewellery industry, lived with his wife and a 22-year-old son. Disputes took place frequently between the couple, mostly over Utpala’s son from a previous marriage.
