Tech billionaire Elon Musk has waded into New York City’s heated mayoral race, throwing his support behind former Governor Andrew Cuomo and urging voters to reject what he called “socialist” politics.
In a post on X, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO told New Yorkers to “remember to vote Tuesday,” warning that “a vote for Curtis [Sliwa] is really a vote for Mumdumi or whatever his name is.” Musk ended his post with a clear message: “VOTE CUOMO!”
The endorsement places Musk among a group of prominent billionaires—including Mike Bloomberg, Airbnb cofounder Joe Gebbia, and hedge fund manager Bill Ackman—who have rallied against progressive Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani.
