A 50-year-old neurosurgeon was killed after the luxury car he was driving rammed a divider and burst into flames on the Khammam-Hyderabad highway in Suryapet district on Sunday (September 20) morning. Police suspect drowsy driving could have led to the crash.
The deceased was identified as Kasakurti Jagadish, a neurosurgeon associated with Mamata Hospital in Khammam. He was travelling alone from Khammam towards Hyderabad to meet his family when the accident occurred near Pillalamarri at around 7.15 a.m.
According to an officer from the Suryapet police, Dr. Jagadish was at the hospital till around 4 a.m. and set out for Hyderabad.
