The world’s largest religious and spiritual fair, Magh Mela, begins today in Prayagraj with the first holy bath on Paush Purnima. From early morning, a massive crowd of devotees has gathered at the Triveni Sangam to take a sacred dip. Authorities estimate that nearly 25 to 30 lakh pilgrims may bathe on the first snan itself.
Spread across 800 hectares, the 44-day-long Magh Mela will witness six major bathing festivals. Security has been tightened with over 10,000 police personnel deployed, along with NDRF, water police, divers, and AI-based surveillance through 400+ CCTV cameras. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is closely monitoring arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.
