Water level in Bihar rivers rises to dangerous level

The water level in the Ganga on Thursday (September 3, 2026) rose to the dangerous level, threatening flood in several districts of Bihar such as Saran, Munger, Jehanabad, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Bhojpur, Buxar and Patna.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and JD(U) president and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reviewed the rising level in the Ganga from different points in Patna and urged people to remain alert and gave instructions to officials for people’s safety.

JD(U) working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Jha said that after a decade (2016), the water level in the Ganga had reached a dangerous level in Bihar.
