Unidentified persons kill elderly woman for jewellery in Namakkal

A 69-year-old woman was murdered and her daughter injured at Puthur in Nangavaram police station limits in the district on Wednesday night. The police gave the name of the deceased as C. Pappammal. Her daughter V. Manjula, who lost her husband, is under treatment at the Government Hospital in Tiruchi.

Family dispute is suspected to be the cause behind the killing. Police sources said they were on the lookout for Pappammal’s granddaughter in connection with the murder. The Nangavaram police have registered a case of murder and are conducting a probe.
