‘True star spreads light’: President Droupadi Murmu urges actors not to endorse health-harming products

President Droupadi Murmu has urged film stars not to promote harmful health products, highlighting that their words and actions strongly influence young minds.

Addressing the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Gujarat, President Murmu emphasised that "a true star spreads light not darkness".

"The film artists who are very popular have immense potential to influence the people of the country, especially the youth. When successful artists speak about the benefits of a disciplined lifestyle, millions of children and young people emulate them. I urge popular artists not to endorse products that are harmful to people's health. A true star is the one who spreads light, not darkness," Murmu said.
