PM Modi reviews West Asia conflict impact in CCS meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (July 30, 2026) chaired the fourth special meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review the evolving situation arising from the conflict in West Asia and assess the preparedness of various ministries and departments to mitigate its impact on India.

According to sources, the Prime Minister was concerned over the safety and welfare of Indian seafarers in conflict zones. Mr. Modi directed the establishment of a dedicated mechanism to provide timely information, emergency assistance and counselling to seafarers and their families.

Emphasising the need to protect Indian citizens and the diaspora, the Prime Minister instructed all agencies to continue efforts to safeguard them from the consequences of the regional conflict.
