Rajasthan’s municipal election results have given the BJP a strong position across several urban areas, although Congress and independents also made significant gains. The BJP is in a position to elect mayors in Jaipur and three other municipal corporations, while Congress secured a majority in Bikaner and independents emerged dominant in Bharatpur.

Four corporations have no clear majority, making independents crucial for government formation. Among 47 municipal councils, BJP secured majorities in 12, Congress in six and independents in seven, while 22 councils produced no clear majority. In 252 municipalities, BJP has a majority in 69, Congress in 37 and independents in 26, with no party securing a majority in 120 municipalities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Rajasthan voters, describing the victory as a sign of public trust in the BJP’s governance. Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated the people and credited the Modi-led government and development work. BJP leaders called the results a rejection of Congress’s appeasement politics, while Congress accused BJP of misusing power.
