3 foreigners fly Amritsar-Delhi-Munich without immigration clearance, Aviation Ministry puts Air India on notice

Air India faces regulatory scrutiny as three Italian passengers allegedly boarded a Lufthansa flight from Delhi to Munich without undergoing the mandatory immigration process at the airport.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has summoned Air India CEO Campbell Wilson for the anomaly. The incident has also drawn the attention of the Ministry of Home Affairs which has called for a high-level meeting to probe how the passengers reached the international transfer area without going through the airport's immigration counters.

According to sources quoted by PTI, the three passengers had travelled from Amritsar to Delhi on an Air India flight on September 4. They were supposed to travel on to Munich on a Lufthansa flight.
