PM Modi Rejects Mediation Claims, Congress Demands All-Party Meet on Trump Call Clarity
A heated political debate erupted after Prime Minister Narendra Modi firmly told U.S. President Donald Trump that India has never accepted and will never accept third-party mediation in matters involving Pakistan. Trump had previously claimed on 13 occasions that he helped mediate a ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.
While the Indian Foreign Secretary confirmed Modi's direct conversation rejecting any mediation, Congress remains unsatisfied.Congress spokesperson Abhay Dubey argued that although Modi has now spoken, trust issues remain because Trump’s misleading statements were made on global platforms, equating India—a victim of terrorism—with Pakistan, a terror sponsor.
Congress maintained that their campaign was aimed at ensuring national dignity and clarity, not political mileage.Dubey also highlighted contradictions between India's strong anti-terror diplomacy at the UN and the External Affairs Minister's earlier statement claiming that Pakistan was informed at the start of the operation.
