C.T. Ravi, BJP MLC, has alleged that Congress leaders are misleading the public by spreading lies about the replacement of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) by the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025.
Speaking to press persons in Hassan on January 10, Mr. Ravi said that the Union government replaced the act and made some changes to realise Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of Rama Rajya.
The BJP leader said the Congress government had launched Jawahar Rozgar Yojna in 1989. However, it had not allocated funds for the scheme. The programme was restructured and strengthened during former Prime Minister Vajpayee’s tenure. Later, the UPA government turned the same into MGNREGA.
