An ‌earthquake of ​magnitude ⁠5.3 ‌struck Tibet ‌on ‌Tuesday (September 8, 2026), ⁠the ⁠European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) ​said. The ‌quake was at ‌a ​depth of ⁠35 km (21.75 ‌miles), EMSC ‌said.

Earlier, an earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude hit Mustang district in northwest Nepal on Tuesday (September 8, 2026).

The epicentre of the earthquake was Lomanthang in Mustang district, 375 km Northwest of Kathmandu, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre.
