Max Verstappen kept the pressure on McLaren and further reduced Oscar Piastri’s lead in this year’s world championship on Sunday by cruising to a commanding victory at the United States States States Grand Prix. In scorching conditions, Red Bull’s four-time world champion led from pole position to chequered flag, finishing 7.959 seconds ahead of McLaren’s title-chasing Lando Norris, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc coming in third, 4.041 seconds behind.

Australian championship leader Oscar Piastri, also of McLaren, finished fifth.

This win marked Verstappen’s fourth in Texas, his seventh on American soil, his fifth this year, and the 68th of his career. It was also the fourth consecutive race where Verstappen out-qualified and out-raced both McLarens.

With five races remaining, Verstappen has reduced Piastri’s 104-point lead to 40.
