Max Verstappen storms to pole for title-deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The 2025 Formula 1 season is heading towards a blockbuster finish as the championship reaches its final stop at the Yas Marina Circuit. With three drivers still in mathematical contention—Lando Norris, Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri—the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix promises a title fight of rare intensity. Oscar Piastri was sharp early in qualifying, and George Russell topped Q2, but Verstappen saved his best for last—capped by his radio reaction: “That was insane.” It was his eighth pole of the season, setting up an electric three-way championship showdown.
