Man Climbs High-Voltage Electricity Pole In Delhi, Rescued

Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old man on Wednesday climbed a high-voltage electric pole in Delhi's Yamuna Khadar area, demanding prompt action by the government on environmental issues. The incident was reported to the Geeta Colony Police Station.

The police promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the information. Although he initially refused to cooperate, he was safely brought down by the police and Delhi Fire Service personnel and handed over to the police after being rescued.

The man, identified as Madhusudan Biswas, was found to be mentally unstable during the police probe. A police official told news agency PTI that a psychiatrist has been called in for consultations. According to the police, the man said that he is either from Bengal or Bihar and claimed to be a teacher and even an environmental acitvist.
