The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday slammed Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena over his claims that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar jail under judicial custody, is deliberately not taking the diet and medicines prescribed to him, and is ‘willfully’ resorting to a low-calorie intake.

In a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, the LG cited a report by Superintendent (Prison) regarding the health status of Arvind Kejriwal, to allege that there were several instances of “willful low calorie intake” by the CM, despite sufficient home cooked food being provided to him.

“The report brings out the fact that there are several instances of willful low-calorie intake by the Chief Minister, despite sufficient home-cooked food being provided to him. The diet monitoring chart indicates that between June 6, 2024, and July 13, 2024, the CM had not fully consumed the prescribed diet for all three meals of the day,” the letter reads.
