India to host inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy in Mumbai, Vadodara in 2027

India will host the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy in 2027, with Mumbai and Vadodara set to stage the six-team tournament from February 14 to 28. The Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium will host the landmark competition, which will feature Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka, the ICC announced on Wednesday, September 2.

Pakistan will not be part of the tournament. The six participating teams qualified based on their positions in the ICC Women's T20I Team Rankings as of the July 6 cut-off date. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with each team facing the other five sides. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will advance to the final on February 28.

The tournament was originally awarded to Sri Lanka, but its hosting rights have now been transferred to India as Sri Lanka Cricket continues to implement governance reforms outlined by the ICC.
