Final electoral roll released in Thoothukudi and Kanniyakumari

Thoothukudi Collector K. Elambahavath released the final list of registered voters for the district on Monday in the presence of representatives from authorised political parties. The list includes around 14.9 lakhs voters from the district.

Between October 29 and November 28, 2024 a total of 66,987 applications were received during the special camps held for the revision of electoral roll. These included 38,034 applications for addition and change of constituencies, 13,180 applications for deletion from the list and 15,773 for corrections and duplicate copy of voter’s identity cards.

According to the final list, the district has a total of 14,90,425 registered voters comprising 7,28,026 men, 7,62,166 women and 233 others. These voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections across six Assembly constituencies in the district, comprising Vilathikulam, Thoothukudi, Tiruchendur, Srivaikuntam, Ottapidaram (separate) and Kovilpatti.
