After Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge for the alleged ‘slip of tongue’ over Article 371, the Congress on Saturday hit back at the BJP stating that Kharge “mistakenly” referred to Article 371 and in the process “inadvertently” exposed the ‘Modi-Shah’ game plan of wanting to make changes in Article 371 of the Constitution.

Issuing clarification on Kharge’s remarks, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Today by a slip of the tongue in his speech in Jaipur, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji mistakenly said that Modi claims credit for abolishing Article 371. Kharge ji clearly meant Article 370,” said.

The Congress leader then went on to say that Kharge’s mistake, however, exposed the Modi government’s plans to make changes to Article 371 and its various provisions.
