Earthquake of 7.3 Magnitude Strikes Antofagasta in Chile

An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 on the Richter scale struck Antofagasta in Chile on Thursday, the United States Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property after the earthquake.

The epicentre of the tremor was reported to be 164 miles (265 kilometres) east of the coastal city of Antofagasta, at a depth of 78.5 miles (126 kilometres).

As per news agency AFP, no tsunami warning has been issued so far.
