Wearing a bright red turban and a sherwani, a Dubai-based labourer from Punjab's Jalandhar was left stranded along with 150 wedding guests after his bride failed to turn up at the venue in Moga city. The groom, Deepak Kumar, 24, had developed a relationship with the bride online, but their wedding plans fell apart on the day of the ceremony.

Deepak, a resident of Mandiala village, works as a daily wage labourer in Dubai and had returned to India a month earlier for his wedding to Manpreet Kaur, whom he had met on the social media platform Instagram. The two had never met in person and were reportedly in a long-distance relationship for over three years.

The wedding was scheduled to take place at a venue called "Rose Garden Palace" in Moga. However, on the appointed day (December 6), Deepak, along with his relatives and friends, arrived in Moga at noon, only to discover that the Instagram bride was 'missing' and that no such venue existed.
