'Chota popat ne kiya hai Congress chopat': BJP hits back at Rahul Gandhi over his 'safe' jibe

The BJP on Monday called Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a 'chhota popat', following his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'ek hai toh safe hai (we are safe if we are together)' slogan earlier in the day. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, in a press conference, said that the termed was coined by Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray.

"'Chota popat ne kiya hai Congress chopat'...Balasaheb Thackeray called Rahul Gandhi 'popat' in one of his interviews...The people who have been looting the 'tijori' for many years, now consider the meaning of 'tijori' as safe...the family has over the years looted the 'tijori' of India. They (the Gandhi family) looted India by doing many scams," Sambit Patra said.

Further attacking the Gandhi scion, the BJP MP said, "Murgi har roz ande deti hai aur Rahul Gandhi harr election se pehle memes dete hai (The hen lays eggs every day, and Rahul Gandhi provides memes before every election)."
