Woman shot in head inside thana dies in hospital, SI on run

A 55-year-old woman from Aligarh, UP, who was shot by a police sub-inspector during passport verification, died in the hospital. The victim, Ishrat Nigar, was critically injured and being treated at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. The SI, Manoj Sharma, is still absconding and a reward of Rs 20,000 has been announced for his arrest. A head constable, who provided the pistol to the SI, was also found responsible and arrested. The family is demanding justice, including the termination of the accused SI, compensation, and a government job for the victim's kin.
