Terror incidents down in Kashmir, infiltrations spike after Article 370 abrogation

The Union Home Ministry has told the Lok Sabha that terror incidents have declined in Jammu and Kashmir since the region was stripped of its special status on August 5.

G Kishen Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs, said 88 such incidents had taken place between August 5 and November 27, down from 106 between April 12 and August 4.

He was responding to a question by BJP MP Rakesh Singh.

"On the other hand there has been an increase in the number of infiltration attempts from across the border," Reddy said in a written reply.
