Minorities safe under Narendra Modi: Alphons

BJP leader and former Union Minister K.J. Alphons on Wednesday said that minorities were safe in the country under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address, Mr. Alphons asked, “What was the case before the 2014 elections? What were Christians told? They were told, you would all be beaten up and all your churches would be burnt [if the BJP came to power]. Sir, 2014 onwards, has even one Christian been beaten up? Has even one church been burnt in India?”

Mr. Alphons said fake videos were being circulated showing that the country was not safe under Mr. Modi.
