Landslide on Kedarnath Yatra route due to heavy rainfall, several missing

By India Today News Desk: Several people were missing after heavy rains caused flashfloods and triggered a landslide on the Kedarnath Yatra route in Uttarakhand on Friday.

According to an official, relief and rescue operations near Gaurikund were underway by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

Heavy rains coupled with boulders falling intermittently from the hillsides are hampering relief and rescue efforts, Circle Officer Vimal Rawat told PTI.
