Actress Silvina Luna dies after plastic surgery mishap

Argentine model and actor Silvina Luna passed away on August 31, at the age of 43. She had been hospitalized at Buenos Aires Hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to complications related to a kidney illness associated with her prior plastic surgery.

Reports indicate that Silvina Luna had been admitted to the hospital for the last 79 days, undergoing treatment for complications stemming from buttocks surgery she had undergone in 2011. Her brother reportedly gave consent for doctors to disconnect her from life support.

In 2021, Luna had cosmetic surgery performed by a surgeon who had previously faced charges related to a patient's death following a procedure. This surgeon had injected a substance containing polymethylmethacrylate into Luna's body, a substance prohibited by Argentina's National Administration of Drugs, Food, and Medical Technology.
