WoW Awards: Vaishali Rameshbabu wins award for excellence in sports

Winning The Hindu Excellence in Sports Award at The Hindu World of Women 2025 on Friday, Vaishali Rameshbabu, a chess prodigy, has been playing in the highest levels since the age of six.  Speaking at the event, Ms. Vaishali said, “It is truly inspiring to see so many women are excelling out there.

The award is very special to me.” The award was presented to her by Atulya Misra Additional Chief Secretrary - Youth Welfare and Sport Development, government of Tamil Nadu, and J. Meganatha Reddy, CEO and Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, and K.C. Vijaya Kumar, Sports Editor of The Hindu.
