'Utterly insane': Musk takes on Trump again, slams Senate draft of 'big bill'
Weeks after his public spat with US President Donald Trump, tech billionaire Elon Musk doubled down on his criticism of the White House’s “Big Beautiful Bill", calling it “utterly insane" and “political suicide".
Earlier this month, Trump and Musk engaged in a bitter feud over the massive spending bill, with the Tesla boss accusing the president of ingratitude and Trump threatening to take government contracts from Musk. The bitter spat cooled off after Musk publicly apologised and deleted several posts, one linking Trump’s name to the Jeffrey Epstein files.
However, Musk – who turned 54 on Saturday – targeting the Big Beautiful Bill once again in a series of social media posts ahead of a critical vote on which the Trump agenda hinges. “The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country!" he said.
