Unification, civil services, and census: How Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel shaped India

India stands as a proud example of unity in diversity, symbolising national integration for the entire world, Ballari Superintendent of Police Shobharani V.J. has said.

She was speaking after flagging off a “Run for Unity” marathon organised by the District Police at the DAR Police Parade Grounds in Ballari on Thursday, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).

The event also aimed to raise public awareness on citizen safety and civic responsibility.

Ms. Shobharani described Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the Iron Man of India who played a decisive role in integrating more than 565 princely States after Independence.
