Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has decided to implement restrictions on major flyovers in Bengaluru in a phased manner.
It has reversed the ban on two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws on the airport road elevated corridor and paused a similar ban due on the Electronics City elevated expressway from September 11.
Bengaluru flyover restrictions cause traffic chaos: Why commuters are taking twice as longThe move came after a preliminary assessment by the Bengaluru Traffic Police found traffic conflicts, queues and congestion at diversion points after goods vehicles, two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws were simultaneously diverted. The diversions also affected traffic on adjoining at-grade roads at the International Airport Road flyover, from Sanjeev Nagar Cross to Vidyashilpa Junction.
