Two held for sexually assaulting boy in Salem

Two youth were arrested on the charge of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old boy on Friday (May 8). The child, a resident of Belur, was playing near his house on Thursday evening before he went missing. His family members later found him lying unconscious at a nearby house. They admitted him to the Vazhapadi government hospital, where doctors found that the boy had ingested drugs.

When enquired, the boy revealed that two youth, aged 17 and 18, from the same locality drugged him and sexually assaulted him. Later, his parents lodged a complaint with the Vazhapadi police, who registered a case under the POCSO Act. The two youth were detained on Friday.
