Trump Envoy To Meet Putin In Moscow — Kushner May Join Talks

US President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are closer than ever, saying his team has made tremendous progress and that only a few remaining points of disagreement stand between the two sides.

In a lengthy Truth Social post, the President said he has directed special envoy Steve Witkoff to travel to Moscow for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump said the move is aimed at finalizing a revised peace framework that his advisers have been negotiating for weeks. “The original 28-Point Peace Plan, which was drafted by the United States, has been fine-tuned, with additional input from both sides, and there are only a few remaining points of disagreement,” he wrote, adding that he hopes to bring the conflict to a close “As soon as possible.”
