President Donald Trump moved a petition in the United States Supreme Court for a review of the lower court’s order that declared most of his tariffs “illegal", and asked the court to overturn the decision.
He filed the plea late on Wednesday (local time), seeking review of the federal appeals court ruling in Washington DC, The Guardian reported.
The court had ruled that Trump’s “liberation day" import duties that he announced on April 2 – which ranged between 10% and 50% on most US imports – were illegal.
