The Kerala State School arts festival begins in Thiruvananthapuram
The 63rd Kerala State School Arts Festival in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala was inaugurated on Saturday (January 4, 2025), marking the beginning of the five-day festival. Inspired by the All-India inter-university youth festival in Delhi in 1954, C.S. Venkateswaran started this art festival for Kerala’s school children in 1957 when he was appointed as Kerala’s first Director of Education.
As many as 10,000 students, accompanied by their parents and teachers, will compete in various events at 25 venues across Thiruvananthapuram over five days for the festival that commences on Saturday (January 4, 2024).
