Imtiaz Ali defends Diljit Dosanjh amid row over casting Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3; calls him ‘son of the soil’
Diljit Dosanjh's latest film Sardaar Ji 3 has turned out to be a controversial one. The actor is receiving major backlash on social media as the movie features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in pivotal role. Following the Pahalgam Terror attack, film organisations had called for a ban on Pakistani artistes working in India. Thus, Sardaar Ji 3 has drawn attention wit people criticising Diljit Dosanjh for his collaboration with a Pakistani star. Many celebrities too have reacted to it. Now, Aditya Narayan has shared his views on the same.
To Hindustan Times, Aditya Narayan spoke about the controversy revolving around Diljit Dosanjh and mentioned that when Hania Aamir's casting happened when the relations between the two countries were that strained. However, he also emphasised on the fact that the relations have never been good anyway. "It’s murky waters, but definitely, it’s always India first. This is my motherland. This is my country. I would put my country first," he said. Aditya mentioned that had it been him, he would put nation first.
Further, Aditya Narayan shared that Diljit Dosanjh should now make amends as it is a very sensitive topic. "We have always been hospitable and collaborative. We still are. Love will always be our message, but there is a limit to tolerance," he added.
