Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer was penalised for slow over rate after the IPL 2025 match on Wednesday, April 30 against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The Kings moved to second in the table with 13 points and moved closer to qualifying for the playoffs.
Since it was Punjab’s first offence, Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakh of his match fees for breaching Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
“Shreyas Iyer, Captain, Punjab Kings has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 49 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Wednesday,” the IPL wrote in a statement.
