
Shreyas Iyer Named India A Captain For Two Unofficial Tests Against Australia
India batter Shreyas Iyer has been named the India A captain for the multi-day matches against Australia A. India A are set to play two multi-day matches against Australia A from September 16 in Lucknow. Iyer’s appointment comes day after he was ignored for India’s Asia Cup squad, despite having a sensational run in the shortest format in both domestic cricket and the IPL.
Iyer will be leading the team featuring India players such as Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Prasidh Krishna and Khaleel Ahmed with Dhruve Jurel as his deputy. KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will be added to the squad for the 2nd multi-day match and will replace two players in the squad after the 1st multi-day match.
