A piece of good news emerged for India as one medal has been booked even before the start of Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026. India's star boxer Lovlina Borgohain has advanced to women's 75kg category semifinals after receiving a BYE (walkover) and entered last four after her opponent didn't show up. According to the box rules in Under Commonwealth Games, all losing semifinalists are awarded bronze medals.

There were only five athletes competing in Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, and now, only four are left, means everyone participant will get something. However, India is hoping for gold.

Lovlina Borgohain will play her first match on July 31 against Taafaki in the semifinals. A win will book the silver and a 'Golden' chance to win the final.
