Security guard arrested for sexual assault of seven-year-old girl in Mumbai

Police arrested a security guard for the sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl in a building bathroom on Sunday (July 12, 2026), in the Paydhuni area. The girl is currently under medical observation.

A crowd gathered outside the police station to protest the incident, which led to a road blockade. Police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and took him into custody.

He is being questioned by the police. A police contingent has been deployed outside the Paydhuni police station to maintain order.
