Rohit Sharma captain, 6 Indians in as ICC announce team of tournament

Barbados: A couple of days after the T20 World CupWorld CupWorld Cup 2024 final, the apex body of cricket has revealed it’s ‘team of the tournament’. While six Indian stars have found a spot in the XI, premier batter Virat Kohli has missed out. Players from four different nations have been named in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Team of the Tournament.

Champions India provide six players, including captain Rohit Sharma, who will captain this team, and Player of the Tournament Jasprit Bumrah.

Three players from Afghanistan make the cut following a breakthrough run to the semi-finals.

The selection panel consisted of commentators Harsha Bhogle, Ian Bishop and Kass Naidoo and ICC General Manager of Cricket Wasim Khan.
