Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has broken the silence on reports of being sentenced to three months in jail in connection with a cheque bounce case. For the unversed, there were reports that the Mumbai court has issued a non-bailable warrant against the Satya director in connection with a long-standing cheque bounce case.
As per the reports, the Andheri Magistrate court had scheduled the verdict for Tuesday (January 21) in the cheque bounce casem a day before the filmmaker announced his upcoming film Syndicate. However, RGV missed the session. As per the Telangana Today report claimed that after hearing the case for seven years, the Mumbai court has issued a non-bailable warrant in his name on January 23.
Now, the Sarkar director has reacted to the news reports and gave his explanation on the same matter. On his X, RGV said that he can't say much as the matter is still in court. He tweeted, "With regard to the news about me and Andheri court, I want to clarify that it is to do with a 7-year-old case of Rs 2 lakh 38 thousand amount, relating to my ex-employee .. My advocates are attending to it. and since the matter is in court i cannot say anything further."
