The Parliament witnessed heated scenes on Monday shortly after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, started his address during the ongoing Parliament Budget Session. The situation escalated after the Congress leader attempted to read excerpts from an unpublished book by former Army Chief General Manoj Naravane and was interrupted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Rajnath Singh highlighted that Gandhi was quoting from a published magazine story, which he claimed violated parliamentary rules.
“He should tell us if the said book has been published or not. It has not been published. He cannot claim to quote from it,” Rajnath Singh said. “I can say with confidence, the book has not been published.”
