Rahul, Akhilesh Slam UGC Draft Rules, Call It 'Attack On Education' & 'Conspiracy To Favor Industrialists'
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav joined a protest organised by the DMK’s student wing at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Thursday. The demonstration was held against the University Grants Commission (UGC) draft rules, which have sparked widespread criticism from opposition parties and student organisations.
The protest, held just a few hundred meters away from the Parliament complex, saw participation from various opposition student groups. Addressing the gathering, Rahul Gandhi accused the RSS of attempting to impose a singular cultural and historical narrative across the country.
According to PTI, Rahul Gandhi said, “I have been saying this for some time now that the aim of the RSS is the eradication of all other histories, cultures, and traditions in this country. That is their starting point and what they want to achieve,” Gandhi said. They attacked the Constitution because they want to impose one idea which is their idea, one history, one tradition, one language in this country and this attempt that they are doing with the education system of the different states... this is just another attempt to push their agenda."
