Karnataka's teenage cricketer Prakhar Chaturvedi came up with a Brian Lara-esque feat in the final of the Cooch Behar Trophy against Mumbai at the KSCA Navule Stadium in Shimoga. Prakhar Chaturvedi became the first cricketer to hit 400 or above in the final of the prestigious U-19 domestic four-day tournament.

Prakhar Chaturvedi hit 46 fours and 3 sixes in a knock that helped Karnataka seal the first-innings lead and eventually the title. Prakhar was unbeaten on 404 off 638 balls as the young opener faced more than 100 overs all by himself, making the Mumbai bowlers toil hard over the last 2 days.

Prakhar Chaturvedi scored 24 runs more than Mumbai's team total of 380. Karnataka posted a mammoth total of 890 for 8 in 223 overs.
