The US Justice Department on Friday released a massive new tranche of records linked to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, making public millions of pages of documents, videos and images as part of a transparency drive mandated by law.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the department published more than 3 million pages of documents, along with over 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, marking the latest and largest disclosure related to the Epstein investigation. The files were uploaded to the department’s website and include records that had been withheld from an initial release in December.
The disclosure was carried out under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, legislation passed after months of bipartisan political and public pressure that compels the government to open its files on Epstein and his longtime associate and former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell.
